I’m running a half-marathon tomorrow. And Almost Getting it Together turns 1 on Sunday. And I turn 25 1/2 on Sunday. So it’s an eventful weekend as far as events go. The first half of 25 has been a bit of a whirlwind. I feel like the second half will pick the momentum back up. Okay, talking about my age makes me feel existential and weird. I’m done. Go read the best links of the week.
I’ve never really had Jamaica that high on my travel bucket list, but Neon Blush has the most beautiful photo diary of her trip there. Can I surf there? If so, I’m sold.
Thought Catalogue is 95% junk but I still follow them on Twitter for hopes that some good article will pop up. 15 Signs You’re an Explorer definitely hit home.
The idea of beignets and shopping my way through New Orleans in 48 hours has me thinking about tagging along on Emily’s marathon trip to the city in January.
Obsessed with this floral sweatshirt + leather skirt combo from Gal Meets Glam.
Is it too late in the season for a flamingo backpack?
I need this coat from Free People so I can recreate this look.
Being uncomfortable is hard. That’s why it is the opposite of comfortable. But growth and change can only occur when you’re uncomfortable. Sarah from Picky Runner had an amazing post about Being Uncomfortable this week.
If you need a feel good story today, this boy with autism is one of the best high school runners in the country.
Meb Keflizighi aka the winner of this year’s Boston Marathon wrote a beautiful post on taking a chance by running the marathon at the Athens Olympics ten years ago when he knew he would most likely medal in the 10K.
It’s no secret I’m obsessed with mustard. I need to make this grilled honey mustard chicken from Angela’s blog, Nutty for Life.
I gave up baking (for myself) with real sugar and butter and flour and fun things a long time ago. (That isn’t to say I won’t bake things for other people with those delicious items!) I’m about to make an exception for this pistachio cream cake with chocolate ganache from My Name is Yeh.
Food dyes are really scary which is really sad because sprinkles are delicious and beautiful. Kylie from Imma Eat That is genius and made sprinkles with all natural coloring!
