I’ve been taking recovery seriously (and noticing I haven’t been gaining water weight, you’re welcome for that TMI) so I was really interested in this article on Marathon Recovery for Pre-Race, During, and Post-Race.
I’ve definitely said running is my therapy before… but sometimes it isn’t enough. Running definitely helps clear your mind, but it shouldn’t be your ONLY form of therapy if you’re not feeling like yourself.
On that note, I often say that I love long runs because I get to be by myself for hours on end. The Huffington Post had a great essay on The Oddity of the Long Distance Runner (a good read if you have one of us in your life!).
I was Skyping with my friend Jessi and simultaneously playing with the penguin statue that lives on my desk when she informed me they found the penguin version of me… a.k.a a blonde penguin! Isn’t she the sweetest? Except apparently she is more likely to be eaten.
