This post is coming to you a little late. I had every intention to write this last night and just had zero energy. Actually that’s been every night this week. I have so. much. energy. in the mornings and then by the time I get home at night… nothing. Anyone else?

Last week I was having too much fun/recovering from New Year’s Eve to post the best links of the week.

Lifestyle
Kay is my girl normally but she serious nailed on the head talking about trying new things despite the fear of failure.

Loving your job isn’t always a given. How can you merge what you love and what you do as a career? Look for the grey area, whether it be creating a new job for yourself within an existing company, taking on new responsibilities or working for yourself (I pick the latter, please).

If I have free time and I’m not doing something productive, I’m racked with guilt. There’s something to say about the lost art of free time.

In case you missed the title of this blog (Almost Getting it Together), sometimes being in your 20s sucks. Celebrities have quotes about being in their 20s (spoiler: most are “you don’t know who you are, just get through them, your 30s are awesome.”)

Do you knit or know anyone who does knit? You can make mittens for koalas with burned hands. I want to learn how to knit just so I can help those cuties out. They break my heart.

Running and Fitness
Did you make a running-based New Year’s Resolution/Goal? Whether it’s qualify for Boston or run for 30 minutes, Runner’s World has tips to help you reach your running goal this year.

Want to get faster this year? Running more miles won’t help (trust me, I know). You’ll have to do some speed workouts from running hills, track workouts and strides.

I always wonder what fitness instructors eat, especially those ones with rockin’ bods. Here’s what  fitness instructors eat for lunch. (AKA I need to lighten up my lunch… juice + almonds has been working well this week.)

Food
I promise, eating healthy isn’t awful. It’s actually fairly simple and delicious. Alexis from The Hummusapien has 5 [Awesome] Tips for Clean Eating.

Marisa from Uproot From Oregon is doing an awesome #BacktoBasicsJanuary challenge. Basically, you want to cook at home, eat real food, etc. etc. All the things you should already be doing. I’m obsessed with her meal prep and easy meal ideas and I know I’ll be throwing some of these together this weekend.

I know it’s after New Year’s so black eyed peas won’t be trendy for another 350-some days, but I definitely want to make Giselle’s Black-Eyed Peas Chocolate Chip Blondies.

Loving Davida’s Asian Chopped Kale Salad with Miso Sesame Dressing. Timely, no?

I did make a fitness new years resolution and we are what 2 weeks into the new year and I have done yoga once? I need to kick myself in the but.

Thanks for linking to #BackToBasicsJanuary – I can’t wait to see your creations this weekend! Be sure to share so that I can too :) That ‘what fitness instructors eat’ article just reminded me to load up on avocado/cheese in a big lunch salad… I find eating a huge meal for lunch helps me avoid snacking all day which is my personal downfall sometimes!

I can’t wait to check out the Fitness Instructor lunch article. I usually have a mid-size salad with a protein, a carb, and another, sweeter-type protein (like Greek Yogurt). Fills me up, gives me lots of variety, and lots of things to munch on!

I’ve seriously watched that “Shit Juicers Say” like 4 times now, including once this morning. Also, knitting for koalas. Sign me up, maybe it’ll make me actually stick to knitting. :)

Great round-up! For lunch I either have leftovers, salads or some type of sandwich/wrap. Really just depends what I’m in the mood for that day. I do have the convenience of staying @ home which means I don’t have to meal prep for that meal. It’s kind of awesome !
