Healthy Homemade Frozen Yogurt Recipes

IMG_3309-1

I finally pulled out my Ice Cream Maker for my KitchenAid Stand Mixer the other day.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned my vendetta against my local Safeway (aka Dateway) but they are always out of every type of yogurt ever. Luckily the other day they had Mountain High Yoghurt still in stock and I picked up a few containers to try.

Back to the ice cream maker. I decided to make frozen yogurt with my Mountain High Yoghurt. I’m currently not trying to eat sugar (once again) so I made a recipe that honestly wasn’t wonderful – but I’ve rounded-up a bunch of Healthy Homemade Frozen Yogurt Recipes I’m going to try as soon as I’m back on the sugar wagon.

If you’re looking for more yoghurt-recipe inspiration, check out Mountain High’s Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook page for lots of great content.

If you would like to try Mountain High Yoghurt for yourself, head here for a coupon to save $1.00 on two tubs of yoghurt. Just a personal note – their yoghurt was SUPER affordable (aka less than $4 for a 32 oz tub whereas Fage is $7.99 at my Safeway and Whole Foods) so you should probably pick some up for breakfast this week.

I need to get myself an ice cream maker, I eat it at least 3-4 days per week year round and every day in summer. Literally – I never thought much about it until I looked back at my last several blog posts, but I would save so much money! And have fun :)

I don’t have an ice cream maker, but I did make banana ice cream in the food processor with frozen bananas. My daughter wasn’t impressed. Guess I should have added chocolate chips.

She didn’t love it? That’s such a bummer! Maybe add some peanut butter – that makes a huge difference ;)

These look so yummy, I should be trying these out instead of buying the fattening ice cream from my grocery store.

I have never tried to make ice cream or frozen yogurt w/ actual yogurt. I have made the banana/pb ice cream in the food processor.. pretty good w/ chocolate chips of course. Good luck w/ the no sugar! You are strong girl!
